Senior Legal Cashier/Team Leader
We are looking to recruit a Senior Legal Cashier/Team Leader for a permanent opportunity with a niche law firm based in Manchester.
The position will ideally suit a Senior Legal Cashier with several years’ experience of both legal cashiering and supervising/managing a Legal Accounts Team (currently 3 others). The nature of much their work means that there are many tasks required within the Accounts team which are additional to those found at more ‘mainstream’ firms of solicitors. This role will focus on ensuring that all the many and varied tasks are being properly completed by the team which will include:
• Monitoring the main Client and Office bank accounts and allocating receipts
• Making online payments via our four different banking platforms These will be a mixture of Faster Payments, Chaps, BACS and some Swift/SEPA foreign payments
• Managing the net pay, HMRC and pension payments in respect of the 50+ care teams employed by some of our deputyship clients
• Depositing and withdrawing funds from external deposit accounts (such as NS&I)
• Responding to email instructions from across the firm to set up/modify recurring transactions and resolve queries relating to our 600 individual deputy client bank accounts
• Reconciling the 600+ deputyship bank accounts
• Checking property completion statements against client ledgers.
• Checking and processing bills
• Other tasks as requested
You will need to be numerate and accurate, with a keen attention to detail and you should enjoy working in and supervising a small team.
Experience required:
• Several years’ experience of legal cashiering
• Good understanding of SRA Accounts Rules and VAT for Solicitors
• Experience of team management, supervision and delegation
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Confident in maintaining documentation in electronic form/PDF’s/folders etc
• Confident in basic use of Microsoft Excel
